Note: I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
The first thing that drew me into this book was the storyline. The concept of people coming back from the dead and having powers with spirits helping them seemed new and interesting. I did not think the author disappointed in the execution of it either. There were a couple slow moments but the book picked up and I found myself wondering what was going to happen next. I think the cover of the book is a little ho-hum though, it didn't really stick out to me and I probably would have past it on the shelves.
The characters were really entertaining with all of the different personalities. I hope Hattie and Oliver are more developed in the next book though, they kind of just faded into the back of the scene (no pun intended). Hunter caught my attention right away, I got that spark of eye candy running through my mind right away. There were certainly a lot of squealing girly moments during the parts between Savannah and Hunter, some of them were way cheesy though. I liked the concept but I think the cutesy love sequence was what I was really in the mood for.
Since the characters supposedly have all of this power though I would like to see them use it a little more and be more forceful in protecting themselves. I will definitely be reading the next book.
