A Bride in the Bargain by Deeanne Gist
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Joe needs to find himself a wife before he looses his land. Anna However is applying for a cooking position and not that of the wife. Both have been duped by mercer and they will need to figure everything out before the time on the land rights elapses.
The story overall was interesting. It was a little slow in the beginning but I liked Anna's determination to do things as she liked and especially for that time not having to be forced into marriage. There were a lot of interesting little tidbits and I enjoyed how the author relied on actual accounts whenever she could.
