Overall I like how the stories were connected by the Neely bracket mystery, it was quite intriguing.

The First Kiss - Julia Quinn - 5 stars
Tillie's brother, Henry, died in the war and Peter had promised to look after his sister. He didn't however expect to want to marry her himself, especially when he had no prospects and she has a substantial dowry. Peter, a man of upstanding honor, doesn't want to be labeled as a fortune hunter but neither does he want to ignore his growing desire.

I really liked both of the characters. Tillie was funny with a shrewd sense of humor and Peter was upstanding. I wouldn't have minded marrying him either!

The Last Temptation - Mia Ryan - 3 stars
Miss Martin is a companion to lady Neely and she also arranges all of her parties. Roxbury is in need of a party planner and she is just the thing, maybe even a little more.

Not exceptional on the characterization but I didn't think the overall story was that bad.

The Best of Both Worlds - Suzanne Enoch - 4 stars
I liked Charlotte a lot. I thought her character resembled mine a great deal actually. And Xavier was perfect for her.

The Only One for Me - Karen Hawkins - 4 stars
I'm not usually about the second chance at love but this wasn't too bad. I liked the characters and Sophia was rather spunky which made the story all that more humorous.

Overall I enjoyed how the stories interconnected with one another and we got to see the characters throughout. Most of the stories were interesting.

One True Love by Suzanne Enoch - 4.5 stars
Anne has been betrothed since birth but she has never met her intended who lives all the way in Yorkshire. She cannot imagine a life away from London and is unpleasantly surprised when her intended comes to claim her.

Anne sure is independent and stubborn for a lady of her time. It's a wonder her parents put up with it. I liked the myth and how it ended. I thought Maximilian was quite persistent in his wooing and it was endearing.

Two Hearts by Karen Hawkins - 4 stars

Royce has been friends with Liza for many years and never anything more. But now with Liza thinking of marrying someone else Royce is realizing just how much he can't live without her.

This was a cute story. I liked how Royce and Liza interacted with one another.

A Dozen Kisses by Mia Ryan - 3.5 stars
I found it to be quite a bland sort of story. I was not terribly interested in the outcome and had no opinion of the main characters.

Thirty-six Valentines by Julia Quinn - 5 stars
My brother wasn’t worthy of a woman like you? - That was quite the spectacular remark from the earl.

Susannah and David were really cute together. Quinn did a fantastic job of telling their story and I loved how strong of a character Susannah was.

Richard Kentworthy had to get married quickly! He came to London for that one purpose but wasn't expecting to fall in love with iris Smythe-smith. To his horror his plan did not seem to be so easy to accomplish as he was expecting.

I had a suspicious feeling about what the secret actually was but reading it through was quite fun. I liked iris's no nonsense attitude and she really did mean it when she said she could get mad, luckily for Richard it wasn't in her personality to happen that often or he would be in some serious trouble!

Review: The Sum of All Kisses

Sarah despises lord Hugh because of what his altercation did to her family, and ultimately in her mind to herself. Taking that into consideration everyone seems to have forgiven him but her. Now, she is strapped entertaining him at her cousins wedding and the sarcastic so remarks somewhere along the way become flirtatious banter.

I loved the enemies to lovers portrayal Hugh and Sarah had going on. Also, the carriage scene was my absolute favorite, I think that was a major turning point for our two characters.

I decided while reading this that I would want to be friends with Sarah. I actually did not care much for her in the other books but reading her story she is a rather likable character.

Gwyneth is trying to figure out who to trust still and what the prophecies actually mean before it's too late.

I kind of suspected the ending, not in full details of course but the basics. I was not really satisfied with the epilogue either, I wanted a more complete ending for everything.

Cover note/ question: shouldn't the blue gown be on the cover of the third book and not the second?

Review: Sapphire Blue

I thought this book was more interesting than the first, we were still left with a lot of questions which I hope are answered in the final installment. It was still a little confusing with all of the different characters and nicknames for all of them.

Gwyneth was pretty annoying in her own right. The author went to great lengths to 1)try and make her appear really stupid then 2) trying to make her into a strong leading heroine. Not particularly fond of Gideon's attitude. He goes from hot to cold pretty fast. I hope there is an actual point to that.

Review: Queen

The rebellion is continuing but the black coats may be on the losing side as "Daxton Hart" thwarts their plans at every turn. His secret must be exposed but that might not be as easy to do as it sounds.

Kitty was so strong throughout the whole ordeal and I loved how she has the support of Benjy. It took a lot of courage to be able to hold back and wait for the right time to act. Even though this book focused on the rebellion I wanted a little more romantic relationship development. I did like how the story progressed though. Aimee carter wrote a very successful trilogy.

(view spoiler)[I never really liked Benjy, as a best friend -yes, as a love interest - not even close. He just didn't do it for me. However, when I thought he was going to be executed I had this heart wrenching moment. I loved him, I sobbed, I cried and I wanted everything to be okay in my fake little world.
